Interviewer: Ben, what a moment for you today! Scoring your first-ever senior goal for Liverpool. How does it feel to finally get on the scoresheet?

Ben Doak: It’s honestly an incredible feeling. I’ve been dreaming of this moment since I was a kid, and to finally score in front of our fans at Anfield is just unbelievable. I can’t put into words how happy I am. It’s a dream come true, but I also know I have a lot more to work on and achieve.

Interviewer: The goal came at a crucial moment, putting the team 2-1 up. Can you walk us through what happened when you scored?

Ben Doak: It all happened so quickly! I remember getting the ball on the wing, and I just tried to take on the defender. I saw the space opening up and just decided to have a go. It’s one of those moments when you don’t think too much—just go for it. I’m happy it went in, and the team was there to back me up. The celebration with the lads was great too—it’s such a special feeling to share it with the team.

Interviewer: You’ve been making a name for yourself with your speed and directness. Was this goal something you had been working on in training?

Ben Doak: Definitely. I’ve been working hard on improving my finishing, especially in one-on-one situations. It’s been a big focus for me in training, so to see that work pay off today is really satisfying. But I also have to give credit to my teammates for getting me into those positions and for their support. We all worked hard together, and it’s a team effort.

Interviewer: You’ve made quite an impact since breaking into the first team. How important is this goal for your confidence moving forward?

Ben Doak: It’s huge for my confidence. I’ve always believed in myself, but to get that first goal in a senior game, in front of our supporters, just gives me a real boost. I’ll definitely take a lot of confidence from this and use it to keep pushing. But I know there’s a lot of hard work ahead—this is just the beginning for me. I want to keep learning from the senior players and keep improving every day.

Interviewer: After scoring, you looked over to the fans and celebrated with them. How much does their support mean to you?

Ben Doak: The fans are everything. To hear them cheer and feel that connection with them after scoring is a moment I’ll never forget. They’ve been so supportive of me since I joined, and I wanted to share that moment with them. I’m just so grateful for the way they’ve backed me, and I hope I can give them more moments like this in the future.

Interviewer: What’s next for you after this goal?

Ben Doak: I’m taking it one step at a time. I want to keep working hard, stay focused, and contribute to the team however I can. My goal is to keep earning the trust of the manager and keep getting more minutes on the pitch. I’m excited for what’s ahead and just want to keep improving.
