Sevilla FC’s central defender, Tanguy Nianzou, is facing a significant period on the sidelines due to a high-grade muscular tear. The club confirmed that Nianzou suffered a severe tear in the rectus femoris muscle of his right thigh, an injury expected to keep him out of action for approximately 10 to 12 weeks.

Since joining Sevilla from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022, Nianzou has struggled with recurring injuries, limiting his contributions to the team. Over two and a half seasons, he has missed 48 matches due to various physical issues. This latest setback further complicates his situation at the club, especially considering his status as one of Sevilla’s highest-paid players.

Nianzou’s prolonged absence poses a challenge for Sevilla’s defensive lineup. The coaching staff will need to rely on other squad members to fill the void left by his injury, aiming to maintain stability in the team’s defensive performances during this critical period.
